Dissipation and Fluctuation at the Chiral Phase Transition

چکیده
Utilizing the Langevin equation for the linear σ-model we investigate the effect of friction and white noise on the evolution and stability of collective pionic fields in energetic heavy ion collisions. We find that the smaller the volume, the more stable transverse (pionic) fluctuations become on a homogeneous disoriented chiral field background (the average transverse mass 〈mt 〉 increases). On the other hand the variance of m 2 t increases even more, so for a system thermalized in an initial volume of 10 fm about 96% of the individual trajectories enter into unstable regions (mt < 0) for a while during a rapid one dimensional expansion (τ0 = 1fm/c). In contrast the ensemble averaged solution in this case remains stable. This result supports the idea of looking for disoriented chiral condensate (DCC) formation in individual events.

Nonequilibrium dynamics and transport near the chiral phase transition of a quark-meson model
Based on the 2PI quantum effective action of the linear sigma model with constituent quarks, we develop a transport approach to study systems out of equilibrium. In particular, we focus on the chiral phase transition as well as the critical point, where nonequilibrium effects near the phase transition give rise to critical behavior such as the fluctuation of the baryon number density. Predictio...
متن کاملOne-loop fluctuation-dissipation formula for bubble-wall velocity.
The limiting bubble wall velocity during a first-order electroweak phase transition is of interest in scenarios for electroweak baryogenesis. Khlebnikov has recently proposed an interesting method for computing this velocity based on the fluctuation-dissipation theorem. I demonstrate that at one-loop order this method is identical to simple, earlier techniques for computing the wall velocity ba...
متن کاملResistivity scaling and critical dynamics of fully frustrated Josephson-junction arrays with on-site dissipation
We study the scaling behavior and critical dynamics of the resistive transition in Josephson-junction arrays, at f =1/2 flux quantum per plaquette, by numerical simulation of an on-site dissipation model for the dynamics. The results are compared with recent simulations using the resistively shunted-junction model. For both models, we find that the resistivity scaling and critical dynamics of t...
متن کاملFluctuation-induced first order transition due to Griffiths anomalies of the Cluster glass phase
In itinerant magnetic systems with disorder, the quantum Griffiths phase at T = 0 is unstable to formation of a cluster glass (CG) of frozen droplet degrees of freedom. In the absence of the fluctuations associated with these degrees of freedom, the transition from the paramagnetic Fermi liquid (PMFL) to the ordered phase proceeds via a conventional second-order quantum phase transition. Howeve...

Because the key issue in quantum information and quantum computing is entanglement, the investigation of the effects of environment, as a source of quantum dissipation, and interaction between environment and system on entanglement and quantum phase transition is important. In this paper, we consider two-qubit system in the anisotropic Heisenberg XXZ model with the Dzyaloshinskii-moriya inter...
متن کاملNumerical investigation of the aging of the Fully - Frustrated XY model
We study the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of the fully-frustrated XY model. At equilibrium, this model undergoes two phase transitions at two very close temperatures: a Kosterlitz-Thouless topological transition and a secondorder phase transition between a paramagnetic phase and a low-temperature phase where the chiralities of the lattice plaquettes are anti-ferromagnetically ordered. We compute...
